10th Anniversary- Peter Vitale Book Signing
Peter Vitale and Mary Emmerling
Thank you to all of our loyal customers who came out to celebrate our 10 years of in business. It was an incredible evening that could not have happened without the floral creations provided by Angelic Grove, Advante Garde, Flora Bella, LUSH Fine flowers and Steve Bader Designs. Each florist created their own vision of what the divine home meant to them.
We honored to have Peter Vitale, photographer for Veranda Magazine, as our special guest signing his new book The Divine Home Living with Spiritual Objects. Peter uses his camera to document 30 residences of people who are passionate, some to the point of obsession, about religious artifacts. His photographs illuminate various ways in which home owners integrate these objects in to both their interiors and their lives as essential expressions of self. The book signing was a tremendous success. We had more than 800 people attend and sold every copy with customers wishing for more.

Welcome to Our New Blog
Welcome to our new blog! There is always something new and exciting going on at On The Veranda.
Our latest event was held on May 28th. We had a cocktail reception and book signing for Mary Emmerling.
We met Mary a few years ago when we collaborated on a Country Home Showcase House that was produced and directed by Mary. We had always been big fans of hers, but working with her reinforced how talented and creative she really is. We also learned that she is great fun!
Only months earlier Mary had released her book Art Of The Cross: an intriguing look at the cross as an Icon whose meaning is as varied and wide ranging as the cultures that have embraced it.
We were so excited to see her new publication, Mary Emmerling’s Beach Cottages, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Mary gets to the heart of what makes a home special. She loves lived in homes (dogs, children, ocean breezes, and a simpler pared down way of life).
Mary has authored many books and we thought it would be great fun to do the book signing. Her name recognition alone guaranteed a great turnout. We weren’t a bit surprised when we sold every copy we had, and the customers were begging for more. There was a lot of creative energy in the room that evening.
So if you are headed to the beach this summer include Mary’s book in your beach bag. There are tips on packing the perfect beach bag, beach movies, best beach reading, and a sounds of summer playlist. There a gorgeous photos. It is really an intimate tour of unique sea side escapes.
Thanks Mary for giving us another wonderful book and thanks to our wonderful customers and friends for a Magical Night.
